Hello Fellow Coachmen Campers...

Here it is September already, fall as arrived at last and we sure enjoyed the few cooler days we had.

Our members celebrating birthdays in the month of October are as follows: Bob Daily (1 Oct), Mark Baxley (3 Oct), Betty Parden (5 Oct), and Charley Taylor (21 October). We wish each and everyone of you a Happy Birthday. We had no anniversaries in the month of October.

Our campout in September was at Pine Mountain R.V. Park... Eight members attended. It was hot when we first arrived on Thursday and Friday, but Friday evening late a storm came up and gave us much needed rain and a welcomed cool down. Friday evening you were on your own for the evening meal. Some went out to eat while others ate in their units. A few of us visited for a while after supper. On Saturday morning we had the usual big breakfast and then you were on your own until supper at 5:30 p.m. Quite a few went to the Wild Animal Safari on Saturday morning and I understand it was quite an experience. The up close and personal encounter with the animals was a little overwhelming for some. Any way everyone had fun and enjoyed the outing. Some visited the local antique shops, some visited the fire departments demonstration and enjoyed their free hot dogs and cokes for lunch.

About 4:30 p.m. everyone started making their way to the club house with their dishes for the upcoming meal. Betty & Ruben Parden were the Wagon Masters and planned the meal. Betty made a pot of Brunswick stew and they went to Jackson, Ga. and purchased fresh air barbecue. We had all kinds of food to accompany these two main dishes and it was all really good. If you left hungry it was your fault. Betty & Ruben's son and his wife (Jerry & Martha) came over from Macon and joined us for supper. We were glad to have them and hope they will pay us another visit soon. Betty & Ruben had recently celebrated their 61st wedding anniversary and this was kind of helping them continue the celebration. After clean up Dale White and Shirley Odom entertained us with their singing and the last song was dedicated to Betty and Ruben and they danced (with a little nudge from the entertainers) Ha Ha!

Sunday morning after breakfast Dale and Shirley sang and Harold Drake gave a devotion, then it was time to clean up, say your good byes and get ready for the return trip home.

Mark & Kathleen Baxley were not there, Kathleen had a stimulator implanted in her back on the Friday that we went camping and I understand she was having quite a bit of pain from it. Hope she is better by now. Let's remember her and Russ and Melinga Temple in our prayers.

The October campout will be at White Water R.V. Park the second week-end of October on 12th and 13th. The Knightons and the Wrights are the Wagon Masters. You "do not" need to make a reservation. The menu will be pot luck supper on Saturday night. You are on your own for Friday night.

Please keep in mind the year is fast coming to an end. We need camp sites and Wagon Masters for the year 2008. Again we wish to thank Ruben & Betty for being our Wagon Masters and doing a fine job. We appreciate everything you did.

Date for next camp out Oct 12 & 13.
Directions to White Water R.V. Park:Take I -75 south to exit 127, SR 26, go west to Montezuma, take SR 128 north about 4.1 mile to Park Rd. Turn west, Park is 1/4 mile on left.

Wishing you all safe travels and good health 'til we meet again.
